Description

Jotunheimen National Park is one of Norway’s most spectacular mountain landscapes, known for its dramatic peaks, glaciers, deep valleys, clear lakes and wide open plateaus. The name Jotunheimen means “Home of the Giants”, and it is easy to understand why: this is a wild and powerful landscape, shaped by ice, weather and time.

The national park is home to many of Norway’s highest mountains, including Galdhøpiggen and Glittertind, as well as some of the country’s most iconic hiking routes. Travellers come here to experience classic mountain scenery, traditional lodges, fresh air and unforgettable views in the heart of the Norwegian highlands.

For guests travelling the Fjord Mountain Route, Jotunheimen is a natural contrast to the fjords further west. The route connects the dramatic fjord landscapes with the high mountains, giving visitors the chance to experience two of Norway’s most iconic natural environments in one journey. Whether you stop for a short viewpoint, a day hike or a longer mountain adventure, Jotunheimen National Park is one of the great highlights of the route.
