Overview
The Flåm Railway (Norwegian: Flåmsbana) is one of Norway’s most famous railway journeys. Running between the fjord village of Flåm and the mountain station of Myrdal, it offers a spectacular introduction to the steep landscapes of western Norway.Description
Over just 20.2 kilometres, the train climbs from 2 metres above sea level in Flåm to around 866 metres at Myrdal. The journey takes about one hour and passes dramatic valleys, waterfalls, farms and 20 tunnels. One of the highlights is Kjosfossen waterfall, where the train makes a short stop.
